  1.
  2. Telix 3.12 (trademark) under DESKVIEW (trademark).
  3.
  4. by: Lawrence E. Widacki
  5.
  6. If you are using a mouse on COM1 and your modem board is on COM3 then you MUST
  7. set the modem board to IRQ2 or IRQ5. I use COM3 - IRQ2 with no problems.
  8.
  9. Same is true is mouse is on COM2 and modem board is on COM4.
  10.
  11. Some BUS mice trap IRQ2 so you mite use IRQ5 for the modem board.
  12. If you have LPT2 then IRQ5 may not be available.
  13. Check your manuals, for the information is usually there.
  14.
  15.
  16. These IRQ's may not have any conflic under just DOS, but they will have conflic
  17. under DESKVIEW.
  18.
  19.
  20. This is the configuration I use with Telix 3.12, a mouse on COM1, and the modem
  21. board on COM3 - IRQ2. This works with DESKVIEW so long you setup DESKVIEW the
  22. same way I show below Telix 3.12 configuration.
  23.
  24. Save your Telix 3.12 configuration by copying TELIX.CNF to another file incase
  25. you have problems.
  26.
  27. If you set the modem board to a new configuration before you reconfigure Telix,
  28. Telix 3.12 will HANG UP at the modem intialization point, because it will never
  29. recieve the OK from the modem.
  30. This may not be a bug, but worth mentioning it.
  31. To avoid this, reconfigure Telix 3.12 first then reconfigure the modem board,
  32. else, using a text editor, edit TELIX.CNF.
  33. Search for `c3irq=' and change the number to the IRQ you will be using.
  34. Also search for `port=' and make sure the COM port number your using is correct.
  35.
  36. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SETTINGS IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS.
  37.
